World yoga day 21st June
International Day of Yoga, or Commonly and Unofficially called Yoga Day, is celebrated every year on June 21 after its establishment in 2015. One day Yoga was unanimously announced by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice in India. India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi has suggested June 21 in the UN's address, because it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and has special significance in many parts of the world.
The first International Yoga Day was celebrated on June 21,
2015. On this day a big event was organized in India. This was a great
opportunity to see people participating in this event in large numbers. There
was great happiness and excitement among the crowd. With time passes,
excitement has not diminished. It has evolved not only in India but in other
parts of the world.
International Yoga Day 2016
After the first International Yoga Day 2015, in the second
yoga day organized in 2016, people were seen together with enthusiasm. A major
event was organized to celebrate second International Yoga Day at the Capital
Complex in Chandigarh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took part in the program to
increase the zeal of the crowd. Shri Modi also practiced Yoga posture along
with thousands of people gathered to do Yoga posture. He gave an inspirational
speech on this occasion so that the youth of the country can be encouraged to
live a healthy life through adopting Yoga in their daily lives.
Similarly, on the occasion of International Yoga Day many
big and small events were organized in many parts of the country. All the
soldiers of Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard also participated
in Yoga Day celebrations in different parts. Our neighboring countries and
other countries around the world also celebrated this day with the same
enthusiasm.
International Yoga Day 2017
Third International Yoga Day was celebrated with more
enthusiasm around the world. As more and more people are understanding the
importance of yoga and following it in their lives, the number of yoga camps
and participation in this year is increasing year after year.
Like every year, a big event was organized in India on the
3rd International Yoga Day. Lucknow was chosen for the city of Nawabs. Prime
Minister Shri Narendra Modi went to Lucknow to celebrate this day with Uttar
Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath. On this day there was rains in the
city of Lucknow, but it had to participate in Yoga Day celebrations. To
celebrate this special day, about 51,000 people gathered at Rambhai Ambedkar
Sabha site in Lucknow. Everyone was excited and thrilled by being part of this
event and everyone has done yoga postures with dedication.
To celebrate this day, Indian President also gathered with
many people in Central Park of Delhi. Apart from this, many programs were
organized in different parts of the country to celebrate Yoga Day.
International Yoga Day 2018
Many festivals are being planned for the fourth
International Yoga Day worldwide. One of the biggest festivals on this occasion
in India is expected to be held on the banks of river Ganges in Rishikesh,
Uttarakhand. A large number of people around the world are expected to gather
for this festival.
It is amazing how mind, body and thinking still work in this
age. Yoga practitioners around the world urge people to encourage yoga in their
regular life. The reason behind celebrating a special day as International Yoga
Day is to emphasize the importance of doing yoga in our lives.
